A journey on the western side of Madagascar

This tour will take you through the western part of Madagascar. You will drive from Antananarivo towards Kirindy where you will have the opportunities to find the Fossa, and to Bekopaka where you will enjoy the amazing rock formations until you reach Belo sur mer for a relaxing seaside day. At the end, you will be taken back to the capital for your international flight. This journey through western Madagascar reveals some of the island’s most iconic birding sites, from Kirindy’s dry forests to the Tsingy of Bemaraha and the coastal habitats of Belo sur Mer. Discover endemic birds such as Couas, Vangas, Ground Rollers and many other unique species, while enjoying Madagascar’s incredible landscapes and wildlife.

Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo and transfer to hotel

Day 2 : Antananarivo – Antsirabe

Day 3 : Antsirabe – Miandrivazo - on the shore of the Tsiribihina river

Day 4 : Miandrivazo – Morondava

Day 5 : Morondava – Kirindy (See Fossa and Madame Berthe’s mouse lemur)

Day 6 : Kirindy – Bekopaka - Verreaux’s Sifaka and Red fronted Brown lemurs, Tsingy (amazing razor -edged rock formations.)

Day 7: Bekopaka The Tsingy – Great and Small; Decken’s Sifaka

Day 8 : Bekopaka – Morondava

Day 9 : Morondava – Belo sur mer

Day 10 : Belo sur mer – relaxing seaside day

Day 11 : Belo sur mer – Morondava – Antananarivo

Day 12 : Antananarivo – DEPART
