Madagascar is famous for its unique range of birds (203 species in total) and wildlife which includes lemurs, chameleons, tenrecs, leaf geckos and much else. A ridge of mountains runs down the Eastern side; the Eastern side of the mountains being green and forested, the Western side being dry with grasslands and areas of specialised “Spiny Forest”. The Nature and wildlife is very different between East and West. There are many dedicated areas of conservation in National Parks and Reserves.
